South Korea to face claim over Samsung merger intervention

A US hedge fund has made good on a threat to file an investment treaty claim against South Korea over the country’s intervention in a US$8 billion merger between two Samsung affiliates under former president Park Geun-hye, seeking “no less than US$770 million” in damages.
