LexArbitri was set up as a boutique commercial arbitration and commercial dispute resolution practice in September 2013, by Madhur Baya, who has been recognised by Who’s Who Legal as a Future Leader in arbitration every year since 2017, one of only five Indians on the list. LexArbitri has also been listed as a GAR 100 firm by Global Arbitration Review every year since 2015, a rare distinction for boutique arbitration practices globally. In 2018, LexArbitri was also named as a Rising Star by the Hong Kong-based India Business Law Journal. LexArbitri helps some of the largest Indian and multinational corporations and investment funds in strategising and undertaking written and oral advocacy in arbitrations within and outside India under various institutional rules as also ad hoc. LexArbitri handles as counsel or co-counsel, a portfolio of large, complex and high-value ad hoc and institutional arbitrations within and outside India with an aggregate sum in dispute of over US$19 billion, and is regularly sought out by upstream oil and gas contractors, EPC companies and insurance buyers, for disputes arising under contracts globally.
