English court refuses to send Chinese-Nigerian debt dispute to LCIA

An English court has upheld jurisdiction over a US$66.5 million dispute between a Chinese-state owned insurer and a Nigerian oil and gas company after finding that an agreement between the parties for LCIA arbitration did not preclude its power to hear the dispute under a non-exclusive jurisdiction clause.
