Pestalozzi’s arbitration practice was founded more than 25 years ago by Pierre Karrer, who’s since gone on to become a leading arbitrator. The firm operates from Geneva and Zurich and now also in Brussels.

After losing part of its team to a rival four years ago it has rebuilt, making up a partner in Zurich and bringing in associates. It has also brought in the academic Ivo Schwander as counsel to cover private international law.

Recent events

The head of the Zurich practice is now Michael Kramer. In 2009, the firm recruited Laurent Killias, from Stiffler & Partners in 2009, one of the founders of the Swiss Arbitration Academy.
