Samuel W Cooper is a trial partner in the Houston office of Paul Hastings LLP. He has tried cases to a decision on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants before juries, arbitrators and judges. He has substantial experience in commercial litigation and arbitration, and has represented both corporations and sovereigns in a variety of international disputes, including breach of contract, expropriation, shareholder squeeze-out, post-closing net working capital true-up, and fraud and breach of representation and warranty claims. These matters have been before fora ranging from International Chamber of Commerce panels in London and Singapore to a single expert arbitrator. Mr Cooper is recognised in Best Lawyers in America, Chambers USA and as a Texas Super Lawyer. He graduated Order of the Coif from Stanford Law School, was managing editor of the Stanford Law Review, received his AB summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Harvard College and served as a law clerk to the Honorable J Harvie Wilkinson III of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
