Richard Chalk heads the Asia dispute resolution practice of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, based in the Hong Kong office. He became a partner in 1994.Richard has broad commercial dispute resolution experience having acted for a wide range of financial institutions and corporate clients. His specialist areas include international arbitration and he has acted in institutional and ad hoc international arbitrations in a variety of venues. He has extensive experience of arbitrating in the Far East having previously worked for a number of years in Singapore and Hong Kong and having handled many large regional disputes.Richard joined the firm in 1985 and is admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales, Hong Kong and the Australia Capital Territory. He has a first class masters degree in law from Downing College, Cambridge. He is on the Panel of Arbitrators for the HKIAC. He is a Solicitor Advocate.
