Michael Weatherley

Michael Weatherley is an international arbitration partner in Ashurst’s Singapore office. Throughout his time in Ashurst’s Brisbane, London and Singapore offices, Michael has represented clients in arbitrations under all of the major rules and in many of the major seats of arbitration. He has also assisted clients in managing crossborder litigation, including before the English, Australian, Singaporean, Bruneian, Malaysian and Indonesian courts.

His experience spans a number of industry sectors, including (most prominently) renewable energy, oil and gas, power, construction, engineering and infrastructure, and mining and resources.

Michael is singled out in directories for his advocacy skills and high-quality, client-orientated service. He regularly speaks at arbitration events and conferences throughout the Asia-Pacific and contributes arbitration insights to various publications. He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and, in addition to his counsel work, takes appointments as arbitrator. He is qualified in both Australia (NSW) and England and Wales.
