Matthew Harley

Matthew Harley is counsel at the DIFC-LCIA. He was previously part of the international arbitration teams at Stephenson Harwood in London and Allen & Overy in Dubai.Matthew has advised and represented clients on international disputes across a range of industry sectors, with particular experience of oil and gas disputes. He has advised and represented clients in international arbitrations under International Chamber of Commerce, LCIA and other institutional arbitral rules, as well as experience of proceedings to enforce arbitral awards.Matthew has particular experience of Africa and Middle East disputes and has spent time on secondment with a leading Kenyan legal consultancy. He is an Africa regional representative for the LCIA Young International Arbitration Group and contributed to the Ethiopia chapter of Arbitration in Africa: A Review of Key Jurisdictions (Sweet & Maxwell, 2016).
