Lijun Cao is a partner and the co-head of Zhong Lun’s dispute resolution department. He is licensed to practise law in China and New York, United States. He has extensive experience in commercial arbitration and litigation. He represents and advises clients in arbitration in mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore and other jurisdictions, as well as lawsuits before various people’s courts in China.
Lijun is an experienced arbitrator. He sits on the panel of arbitrators of various institutions, including CIETAC, HKIAC, SIAC and ICDR. He is member of the SIAC Court of Arbitration and the CRCICA Advisory Committee, the vice chair of the Arbitration and ADR Committee of ICC China, and the vice chair of the Arbitration and Lawyer Mediation Committee of the All China Lawyers Association.
Lijun has been recognised as a leading lawyer in China-related dispute resolution. For example, since 2014, Chambers and Partners has continuously ranked him as a Band 1 international arbitration lawyer; from 2015 to 2022, The Legal 500 ranked him as a ‘leading individual’; and he was listed in The Legal 500 Hall of Fame in 2023.
