Dr Vanderhart is a managing director at FTI Consulting and is based in Washington, DC. She is a member of the Economic and Financial Consulting group. Dr Vanderhart is responsible for providing a range of consulting services, including litigation support services and economic consulting. She specialises in applied econometrics and microeconomic analysis, including theoretical and empirical analysis in the areas of intellectual property, antitrust, breach of contract and commercial damages. Her clients include companies in a wide range of industries and retail sectors including computer hardware and software, retail merchandising, durable goods manufacturing, tobacco and soft drinks. Dr Vanderhart has over 20 years of experience in the valuation and quantification of economic damages, including claims arising from patent, copyright and trademark infringement, trade secret misappropriation and contract disputes. She has testified numerous times in state and federal court and in arbitration proceedings. She has also assisted companies in their negotiations associated with patent and trademark licensing. Dr Vanderhart is also experienced in calculating and determining appropriate data cost-sharing compensation under FIFRA legislation and has testified several times in FIFRA proceedings. Dr Vanderhart has published in the area of damages and intellectual property and is the author of a chapter in a treatise on damage calculations that is updated biannually. Dr Vanderhart has also presented and served as a discussant at conferences and lectures. She is a member of the American Economic Association, the National Association for Business Economics, the Licensing Executives Society and is an associate member of the American Bar Association where she co-chairs the an economics sub-committee and an intellectual property litigation sub-committee.
