James has a diverse practice in investor-state and commercial arbitration as well as continuing involvement in High Court litigation. His work to date has focused on public international law, general commercial disputes, shareholder disputes, finance, energy, mining, commodities, insurance, aviation and international trade in Africa, China, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East. He has practical experience under the major arbitral institutions, including the ICC, LCIA, UNCITRAL, ICSID and DIAC, as well as before the Commercial Court and Technology and Construction Court in London. James also has experience in internal investigations, sanctions, compliance and aviation finance. He further maintains an active pro bono practice, most notably by representing clients appealing their disability benefits entitlement.
