Dr Hazem is a partner in the dispute resolution department at Khodeir & Partners. Dr Hazem is a qualified lawyer specialising in arbitration and litigation disputes. Dr Hazem has a plethora of diverse expertise working with courts and arbitral tribunals in Egypt and Qatar, and both his clients and peers have praised him for his perseverance and keen skills. Dr Hazem is experienced in handling highly complicated disputes relating to various areas such as telecommunications, construction, oil & gas, investment, corporate, maritime and shipping disputes and all civil and commercial disputes in general. Dr Hazem has handled cases under most major arbitration centres, including the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the Swiss Chambers of Commerce (SCC), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), the London Maritime Arbitrators Association (LMAA), and the Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA). Apart from his experience as a counsel, Dr Hazem also regularly serves as arbitrator.
Before Khodeir & Partners, Dr Hazem has been a public prosecutor, a senior lawyer and acting head of dispute resolution in some of the very well-regarded international and regional firms. He teaches law at Egyptian, British and US universities. Dr Hazem is a professor at Cairo University, Faculty of Law and regularly speaks and publishes on arbitration and construction topics.
