Gurmeet Kaur

Gurmeet Kaur is head of projects in the UAE and has been based in the region since 2007. She has previously worked in the projects and finance teams of other law firms in Dubai.She has advised public and private clients on infrastructure and energy projects including advising on structuring, procurement, regulatory, corporate issues and contractual documentation (including FIDIC, Australian Standard forms, EPC, EPCM, BOO, BOOT, DBO and O&M).Her recent experience includes; advising a regional transport authority in relation to the renegotiation of a metro concession; advising an international consulting company in relation to a multimillion dirham construction dispute under DIAC arbitration rules; advising a contractor in relation to a multimillion dollar dispute with the employer and in a related dispute with a subcontractor under ICC arbitration rules in relation to an oil and gas project in Abu Dhabi; advising a Spanish water company on a 22 MIGD desalination project in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE; advising the Qatar Power and Water authority in relation to the Facility D power and water project; and advising a state-based construction company on arbitrations in the UAE.Gurmeet has spoken at various conferences on construction and projects related topics. She has completed her Advanced Certificate in Arbitration (Chartered Institute of Arbitrators), LLM (Construction), LLB (Hons) and BEc.
