Grant Hanessian is a partner in the New York office of Baker McKenzie and chair of the firm's international arbitration group in North America. He previously chaired the firm's global arbitration group and the litigation department of the firm's New York office. Mr Hanessian has more than 25 years' experience as counsel and arbitrator in investment, energy, construction, commodities, financial services, insurance, intellectual property and other disputes. He is currently US member of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) International Court of Arbitration; chairman of the arbitration committee of the US ICC national committee; US vice president of the London Court of International Arbitration's North American Users' Council; a member of the ICC's Commission on Arbitration and its task forces on arbitration involving states or state entities and on financial institutions and international arbitration, the AAA-ICDR's international advisory committee and advisory committee on Brazil, the International Arbitration Club of New York and the Spanish Arbitration Club; and a founding board member of the New York International Arbitration Center.
