Emily Choo is a state counsel in the International Affairs Division of the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) of Singapore where she provides legal advice to the Singapore government on a wide range of public international law issues, including international trade and investment law. Prior to joining the AGC, Emily was international arbitration law clerk to Mr J Christopher Thomas KC, and assisted Mr Thomas KC on investor–state and commercial arbitrations and matters involving investment law and arbitration issues where he was appointed expert or amicus curiae. She was the lead organiser and part of the faculty of the Singapore International Arbitration Academy, a leading international arbitration training programme for government and private-sector lawyers worldwide. She was also a member of the drafting sub-committee for the CIArb Guidelines for Witness Conferencing International Arbitration, which won the Global Arbitration Review award for ‘Best innovation by an individual or organisation’ in 2020. Emily is an advocate and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore.
