Ellis has advised developers, contractors, consultants and lenders on projects in 31 countries across five continents, including power stations, oil and gas installations, metals and mining facilities, process plants, transport infrastructure and commercial developments.
Ellis has been recognised by independent legal directories as a leading lawyer for construction law since 2005, and, in 2018, was highlighted ‘in particular for his deep knowledge of the FIDIC suite of contracts’ in Chambers UK and as a ‘leading expert on the FIDIC suite’ by The Legal 500. He is one of the few individuals ranked in Band 1 by Chambers UK for construction: purchaser and construction: international arbitration. He is also in The Legal 500’s Hall of Fame for construction.
