Donald J Hayden is a partner in the Miami office and a member of the Steering Committee for the firm’s International Arbitration Practice Group. His practice is focused on complex commercial disputes, both domestically and in the global marketplace. He routinely handles complex multi-jurisdictional disputes, and is widely recognised for his commercial litigation and international arbitration practices. He often represents multinationals in disputes arising out of both inbound and outbound commerce, principally to or from Latin America. His recent arbitration experience includes the representation of a South African multinational and its US subsidiaries in a gold mining dispute, an Ecuadorian electronics distributor in an ICC arbitration, a Spanish multinational in consolidated ICC claims arising out of its termination of a US subsidiary services company, the Republic of Ecuador in the dismissal of a US$900 million arbitration against it brought by a US utility company, and a Brazilian power generation company in the successful post-hearing settlement of an ICC arbitration arising out of the termination of the power generation agreement. Mr Hayden has been recognised by Chambers USA and Best Lawyer's in America for his commercial litigation and international arbitration practice.
