Daniel Posse Velásquez co-chairs the dispute resolution practice group at Posse Herrera Ruiz, focusing on national and international arbitration, and in judicial proceedings and insolvency matters. He has more than 35 years of experience, and his practice is specialised in disputes related to construction, infrastructure, distribution contracts, telecommunications, M&A, corporate matters and trust-related disputes. He qualified as a lawyer from the Javeriana University and was admitted to practise in Colombia in 1986.

He has acted as arbitrator before the Arbitration Centre at the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce and the Superintendency of Corporations. He is a member of the Colombian Arbitration Committee, the ICC Colombian Arbitration Commission and the Latin American Arbitration Association (ALARB). He has also acted as an expert in Colombian law before United States courts.

Daniel is recognised by Chambers and Partners as a Star Individual. Legal directories such as The Legal 500 and Best Lawyer consider him a leader in Colombia in litigation, arbitration and mediation and he is recommended by Who’s Who Legal in litigation and arbitration. He is also recognised by Benchmark Litigation as a ‘litigation star’ in arbitration and commercial law.
