Chang Liu specialises in international and domestic commercial arbitration and litigation, and investment treaty arbitration. She has acted as counsel for foreign and Chinese clients in arbitration cases conducted under the HKIAC, UNCITRAL, SIAC, LCIA, CIETAC, BAC, LME and ICSID arbitration rules, and advised or represented clients in ancillary or separate court proceedings conducted in Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong, United States and South Africa. The disputes involve private equity investment, international sale of goods, Sino-foreign joint ventures, financial derivative products, trademark license, with governing laws including, among others, Hong Kong law, English law and Chinese law.

Chang is a PRC-registered lawyer. The clients she has represented or advised include MOFCOM, multinational companies, foreign-invested enterprises, large state-owned enterprises, listed companies and private equity funds. Chang is the deputy secretary general of the China International Investment Arbitration Forum.
