Cameron Scholes is a partner in DLA Piper Australia’s litigation and regulatory practice in Sydney. Mr Scholes specialises in risk management and dispute resolution in the international and domestic construction, oil and gas, renewable energy and transport sectors, and for more than 20 years has represented clients across a broad array of sectors and industries, including commercial, retail, hospitality, sport, road, energy, natural resources, defence, health, process engineering and telecommunications.

He regularly represents principals, contractors, developers, consultants and various government agencies in both domestic proceedings and international arbitrations under various rules, including ICC, SIAC and ACICA.

Some of Mr Scholes’s recent experience includes leading a major workstream in a complex ICC arbitration seated in Singapore in relation to one of Australia’s largest LNG projects, representing an EPC contractor in a SIAC arbitration seated in Singapore in relation to a dispute that arose out of the construction of a bioethanol plant, and advising a petroleum regulatory authority in an ICC arbitration relating to the termination of a production sharing contract for an oil and gas block in the Timor Sea.
