Brian focuses his practice on commercial and investment arbitration and is recognised as a ‘global player’ in the field. He has acted as counsel or arbitrator in more than 100 institutional and ad hoc arbitrations, including two of the largest investment arbitrations to date. Brian has particular expertise in the energy, construction and pharmaceutical sectors.Brian is a prolific writer and speaker at industry and government conferences. Among other professional affiliations, he is an adjunct professor at the NYU School of Law. Brian received his JD from New York University School of Law, first in class (1990), and his AB from Princeton University, summa cum laude (1985). After law school, Brian clerked in the Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit and the District Court for the Southern District of New York.
