Benedict Wray is an English- and Ontario-qualified disputes lawyer. His broad practice includes international arbitration, commercial litigation and administrative law matters, as well as a range of business and human rights issues. Benedict has experience of international law and investor–state disputes, advising and representing clients on matters governed by the rules of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law, the International Chamber of Commerce, the London Court of International Arbitration and the ADR Institute of Canada, as well as ad hoc arbitrations under various Canadian statutes. He also regularly advises clients on conflict-of-laws and jurisdictional issues, and has appeared before a range of courts in Canada and the UK. In addition to his practical experience, Benedict holds a doctorate in law, which focused on transnational corporate liability for torts and human rights issues, and included an analysis of international investment arbitration in respect of these issues.
