Angeline Welsh specialises in international arbitration and public law. She has acted as counsel on complex arbitrations conducted under a wide range of institutional rules, across sectors as diverse as energy, telecoms, construction and finance and in jurisdictions across the world.Angeline has substantial experience in the Caribbean region.  She acted on the high-profile investment treaty cases and constitutional claims arising out of the nationalisation of the major telecommunications company in Belize. Angeline also has specialist expertise in court applications relating to arbitration in the region, including injunctive relief and enforcement of arbitral awards; for example, BCB Holdings Limited and the Belize Bank Limited v the Attorney General of Belize [2013] CCJ 5 (AJ) and Dunkeld International Limited v the Attorney General of Belize (Civil Appeal No 24 of 2011). Angeline is called to the bars of England and Wales and Belize, and has acted on cases before both the Privy Council and the Caribbean Court of Justice.Angeline is a co-chair of IBA Arb40 and a contributor to Russell on Arbitration. She is a recommended individual for arbitration in Who’s Who Legal 2016 and has been consistently recognised as a leading individual for arbitration by the legal directories. Prior to joining Matrix, Angeline was counsel and solicitor advocate in the International Arbitration Group at Allen & Overy LLP, spending time in the London and Hong Kong offices and on secondment to the LCIA.
