Andrés Bobadilla is a graduate of law at Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (1981). In 1982, he was a founding partner of the firm Grisolía & Bobadilla, currently Bobadilla – Oficina de Abogados. Mr Bobadilla is a widely recognised attorney in the Dominican Republic, with vast experience representing local and international clients, including financing sponsors and lenders; the issuance and placement of securities; the acquisition and sale of companies and businesses; the development of industrial and service free zones, tourist centres, and projects related to electrical, port and road infrastructures; corporate and financial law; project finance; renewable energy; mergers and acquisitions; foreign investment; corporate criminal law; and alternative dispute resolution. In addition, Mr Bobadilla has extensive experience and is highly qualified by multiple publications on international law in the corporate and commercial fields, and in the resolution of arbitration and litigation disputes. He has been appointed as an international arbitrator and a member of the court for Dominican Republic before the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce and is a mediator and arbitrator for the Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution at the Chamber of Commerce of Santo Domingo. Also, Mr Bobadilla is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitration.
Currently, he serves as Member-Secretary of the Board of Directors of Compañía Dominicana de Teléfonos, SA (Claro-Codetel), Seguros Universal, ARS Universal, Banco Popular Dominicano, Grupo Popular, and Centro Regional de Estrategias Económicas Sostenibles, Inc. (CREES). He is also a member of the International Bar Association, Inter-American Bar Association and the American Bar Association (International Associate Member).
