John Fisher leads the PwC disputes practice in the UK and globally. He is a forensic accountant specialising in the financial aspects of commercial claims and disputes. Having been undertaking forensic accounting assignments since 1992, John has a huge range of experience in disputes, claims and controversies and has given evidence on many occasions.
John has advised clients in a wide range of disputes including those related to insolvency proceedings, breach of contract, breach of warranty, professional negligence, insurance claims and a wide range of transactional matters. He has given evidence in proceedings in the United Kingdom and overseas, in the English High Court and in arbitration (domestic and international), in the UK Competition Appeals Tribunal and in disciplinary proceedings.
John has experience across a range of industry sectors including energy, oil and gas, construction, transport, infrastructure, retail and consumer, property, manufacturing, and financial services.
John is the senior partner in the PwC transaction disputes practice. The practice specialises in helping vendors or purchasers protect or enhance the value of a transaction. John advises clients not only on accounting and financial aspects of warranty claims and completion accounts disputes, but also on the interpretation of agreements in dispute situations.
John acts as independent accountant in determinations. He has acted in matters where jointly appointed by the parties and also where appointed by the ICAEW under the President’s Appointment Scheme. He was involved in the recent revision of the ICAEW’s guidance on expert determinations.
