Grant Hanessian heads Baker McKenzie’s International Arbitration Practice Group in North America. He has more than 25 years of experience as counsel and arbitrator in disputes con¬cerning investment treaty, contract, energy, construction, com¬modities, financial services, insurance, intellectual property and other matters.
Mr Hanessian is alternate US member to the ICC Court of Arbitration in Paris, chairman of the Arbitration and ADR Committee of the United States Council for International Business (the US national committee of the ICC), and vice president (for US) of the LCIA's North American User's Council. He is a member of numerous arbitration groups including the ICC Commission on Arbitration, and its task forces on financial institu¬tions and international arbitration (co-chair of working group on ‘Investment Arbitration and Banking & Finance’), and on inter¬national arbitration with states and state entities; the AAA-ICDR International Advisory Committee and the ICDR Advisory Committee on Brazil; the New York State Bar Association Task Force on International Arbitration; the International Arbitration Club of New York; and a founding board member of the New York International Arbitration Center. He is the author and editor of many publications on international arbitration.
