Hassan Arab is the deputy managing partner and co-head of litigation in Al Tamimi & Company.
He is a leading expert in all aspects of civil, commercial litigation and dispute resolution. Hassan regularly sits as an arbitrator and advises on arbitration-related issues. He has extensive experience in providing expert opinions on the UAE laws before arbitration tribunals and foreign courts.
Hassan obtained his PhD in law from the University of Essex in UK and has a law degree from Beirut University in Alexandria, Egypt. He also has a master’s degree in International Business from the University of Wollongong and practice diplomas in International Arbitration Law and International Commercial Law from the College of Law, UK. He is on the panel of arbitrators for ICSID, ICC, DIFC-LCIA, DIAC, SICAC, SIAC, AIAC and CRCICA.
Hassan is the chairmain of the ICC-UAE Commission on Arbitration and a member of the future Arbitration Court of the Casablanca International Mediation & Arbitration Centre. He is also a member of the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR and a member of the DIFC Court User’s Committee. He was recently recognised in the inaugural edition of Who’s Who Legal’s Future Leaders – Arbitration, a listing of the world’s foremost international arbitration practitioners under the age of 45.
He is the author and co-author of a number of publications on arbitration and dispute resolution. In addition, Hassan has authored several books including two volumes of the Civil Procedures Law in the UAE, Criminal Procedures Law in the UAE and has co-authored Summaries of UAE Courts’ Decisions on Arbitration (ICC publication).
