Laurent Jaeger, partner in Orrick’s Paris office, is the co-head Orrick’s International Arbitration group worldwide. Laurent specialises in International Commercial Arbitration and International Litigation and he also acted in Investment Treaty Arbitrations. He also assists clients in negotiating and drafting international contracts. Mr Jaeger advises French and international industrial companies in industries such as construction, oil and gas, mining, pharmaceuticals, hotels, aircraft and car manufacturing.
He has acted as counsel in more than 100 arbitrations and as arbitrator, president of the arbitral tribunal or co-arbitrator in more than 30 arbitrations.
He is also actively involved with the ICC, where he frequently trains legal professionals and gives conferences. Mr Jaeger is consistently recognised by various publications and was named “Arbitrator of the Year” by the French magazine Décideurs Stratégie Finance et Droit in 2009. Chambers Global: The World’s Leading Lawyers 2012 recognised Laurent as ‘Leading Individual for International Arbitration’: “Laurent Jaeger climbs the rankings. Peers admire his “perfect handling of aggressive situations”. He acts for domestic and foreign industrial players from sectors including chemicals, oil and gas, mining, pharmaceuticals, hotels, aircraft and car manufacturing.
Prior to joining the firm in 2009, Mr Jaeger was a partner at Latham & Watkins.
