Rob Deane is a partner with Borden Ladner Gervais LLP, based in Vancouver. He is the national leader of the firm's international trade and arbitration group, and practises in the areas of international arbitration (as well as domestic arbitration) and commercial litigation.
Rob has extensive experience in numerous significant international commercial arbitration proceedings in North America, Asia and Europe under the London Court of International Arbitration Rules, the International Chamber of Commerce Rules, the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (Additional Facility) Rules, the American Arbitration Association's International Arbitration Rules, the Arbitration Rules of the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, the Domestic and International Arbitration Rules of the British Columbia International Commercial Arbitration Centre, and the National Arbitration Rules of the ADR Institute of Canada, among others.
Rob was recognised as 'Arbitration Counsel of the Year' (2016, 2014 and 2013) by Benchmark Canada; in The Best Lawyers in Canada (international arbitration); by Global Arbitration Review in Who's Who Legal: Arbitration 2016; in Chambers Global (dispute resolution, British Columbia; arbitration); in Expert Guides; in The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory (international commercial arbitration); and in Benchmark Canada (commercial litigation, competition, intellectual property, international arbitration).
