Yukos appeal gets under way in The Hague
Today saw the first hearing of an appeal against the set aside of the US$50 billion Yukos awards issued against Russia, with the former majority shareholders arguing that the state has completely changed its case and sought to introduce evidence of illegalities surrounding the privatisation of the oil company in 1995 in an attempt to distract from its expropriation.
