UK considers Iran award payout to free imprisoned charity worker

The UK is reported to be exploring ways to make good on a £400 million award issued in favour of Iran’s defence ministry 16 years ago despite EU sanctions against the state, as it negotiates the release of a British-Iranian charity worker imprisoned in Tehran for subversive activity.
