In the first hearing of the appeal against the set-aside of the Yukos awards, the court considered whether to split the proceeding into two phases and whether the former majority shareholders in the oil giant should have a separate opportunity to address “unclean hands” evidence allegedly “dumped” on them by Russia days before the first instance hearing.
