Tanzania takes steps to settle mining dispute

Tanzania and a London-based subsidiary of Canada’s Barrick Gold have announced a proposed deal that may end two arbitrations over a government-imposed ban on mineral exports following the company’s alleged failure to pay billions of dollars in taxes.
