Reports of CAS’s death are greatly exaggerated
Lawyers have downplayed the significance of a Belgian court judgment which held that a clause in FIFA’s statute providing for the mandatory resolution of disputes before the Court of Arbitration for Sport is incompatible with Belgian law – amid suggestions that the decision threatens the legitimacy and jurisdiction of CAS.
