Panama creditor can't freeze accounts outside France, rules Paris court
The creditor had frozen funds held by Standard Chartered Bank
A French-Tunisian entrepreneur cannot enforce an investment treaty award against Panama by ordering a US bank’s Paris office to freeze funds in bank accounts belonging to the Panama Canal Authority in New York, the Paris Court of Appeal has ruled.
