Kenya defeats mining claim after local law violations

A tribunal has declined jurisdiction over an ICSID claim filed against Kenya by subsidiaries of a Canadian mining company, ruling that although there was no proof that their licence was obtained by corruption, it was issued in violation of local laws to protect the environment.
