After the shock of last year’s penal code amendment which said arbitrators could be imprisoned for bias, delegates at GAR Live Dubai have expressed dismay at what seems like another setback for the United Arab Emirates as an arbitral hub – a new law which permits only Emirati lawyers to acts in cases seated in the country.
