Egypt threatened with claim over cancelled port project

A Kuwaiti shareholder in a consortium that held a concession to build and operate a new container terminal facility at Egypt’s Damietta port has thretened to bring a US$1.1 billion treaty claim against the state following the project’s cancellation – while a related billion-dollar ICC arbitration continues.
