Arbitrators convicted in Egypt over “sham” award

UPDATED WITH DECISION: An Egyptian criminal court has convicted three arbitrators and two employees of an arbitral institution in Cairo in connection with the issuance of a US$18 billion award against Chevron – following a criminal complaint by the US oil company that the arbitration was a “sham”.
