Siegfried H Elsing
Prof. Dr. Siegfried H. Elsing, LL.M. (Yale) is a partner in the Düsseldorf office of Orrick, Hölters & Elsing, the Practice Group Leader of the Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, LLP International Arbitration Practice and serves as a member on the firm's Executive Committee. He has more than 30 years' experience in litigation and international arbitration serving as counsel, party-appointed arbitrator, sole arbitrator or chairman in more than 130 international arbitrations, to include ad hoc proceedings (together with those under UNCITRAL Rules) as well as arbitral proceedings under the auspices of leading arbitral institutions (ICC, DIS, SCC, VIAC and others). He is a member of the Board of Directors of the American Arbitration Association, a Former Chairman of the Mediation Committee (2007/2008) of the International Bar Association and is an active member of the Deutsche Institution für Schiedsgerichtsbarkeit e.V. (Germany). He is also honorary professor at Heinrich-Heine-University, Faculty of Law, Düsseldorf, where he teaches international commercial arbitration and international civil procedure.
