Eduardo J De la Peña Bernal is counsel in the Miami office of Reed Smith. He fo-cuses his practice on international arbitration and litigation. Eduardo is a du-al-licensed attorney with JD degrees in Mexico and the United States, with signifi-cant experience amassed while working in leading international law firms in both countries. He regularly handles complex international arbitration proceedings in both English and Spanish under the rules of the major arbitral institutions (e.g., ICC, ICDR, AAA, LCIA and IACAC), and involving the application of both US and foreign law. He also serves as counsel in investor–state-related disputes arising out of Latin America. He brings to the international disputes in which he acts a very unique academic and professional background, with knowledge and experience in both common and civil law systems, as well as Latin America-related legal issues. Eduardo is ranked by Chambers USA 2017 as ‘Up and Coming for Nationwide, International Arbitration’. He was identified as a ‘Foreign Expert for Mexico’ on international arbitration matters by Chambers Global 2016 and selected in 2015 by the publication Latinvex as a ‘Rising Legal Star in Latin America’.
