Maja joined the firm in 2010 and became partner in 2013, after five years in the Paris office of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP, where she gained invaluable experience in international transactions and in resolving international disputes. Maja is admitted to the Paris and the Slovenian Bars.
Maja has advised domestic and foreign clients in several M&A transactions, including, recently, the Republic of Slovenia and the Slovenian Sovereign Holding in the sale of Nova Kreditna banka Maribor. She also has extensive experience in EU state aid law, including having advised a leading CEE port operator in projects involving state aid issues, and having represented the European Commission in proceedings before the Court of Justice of the EU. Maja regularly represents domestic and foreign clients in international dispute resolution proceedings, inter alia, before the European Court of Human Rights and in international arbitration. She is also active as an arbitrator and lecturer and regularly publishes on topics in her field of expertise.
